Livin’ it drug free 24-7 can be challenging.

Going along with what your friends are doing is natural, but it can be hard when you feel pressure to do something you know is wrong.

There are ways to keep livin’ it drug free 24-7:

  • Use humor to lighten the situation.  How about saying, “I’m funny enough without taking drugs,” or “My parents would ground me for life if I drank beer.”
  • When a friend wants to do something that would be illegal and unsafe, suggest you do something better, like see a movie, go shopping or play soccer.
  • Talk about the problem with someone you trust, like your parent, a teacher or a coach.
  • Get involved and become an advocate for drug abuse prevention:
  • Become a member of a group that helps youth make positive lifestyle choices.
  • Write down your concerns about messages by the alcohol industry and media that make it difficult to stay drug free, and send the letter to your local City Council Representative or Mayor, State Representative ,or Senator.
